GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS!!

Dear Ladies,
I want to send a “THANK YOU” to all of you who have worked your days during this heat and humidity, some of the days have been really hot but a veteran was still buried and the honor guard was still present and so where we.
As some of you may know, I have been out of town for six weeks. To those Ladies who covered my Monday, Thank You. To those Ladies who called and did not get an answer, that is why and I am trying to return calls now.
I would like to ask all Ladies to keep Atwood Brewton and her husband in your prayers, Mr. Brewton has been diagnosed with an inoperable cancer and Atwood has asked for a leave of absence for the time being. Please continue to remember Mary Ann Brown in your prayers also as she and her husband rebuild their home after a tragic fire.
As all of you are aware, during the inservices in Jan. and Feb., each Lady was asked to commit to one day a month and all agreed to do so. Neither Veronica Potter or myself are responsible for calling you each month to sign up for a day. It is your responsibility to check our web page or to sign up on the calendar out at the cemetery. It is not fair to those who work every month, some one day, some two and some four. Therefore, those Ladies who have failed to keep this covenant do not have the right to call themselves “Jacksonville Ladies”. So in fairness to those who do serve our veterans with honor to our organization, it is with sadness that I ask for the resignation of those who have failed to keep their promise. You may call or e-mail Veronica or me with your resignation and those who do not respond will be removed from membership automatically.
